There are four major mobile service providers in Nigeria:

MTN Nigeria - A South African company with a wide coverage across Nigeria and Africa. Their number series start from 0803, 0703 and 0813.

Globacom Nigeria - This is the only indigenous mobile service provider in the country with a wide coverage across Nigeria and West Africa. Their number series start from 0805, 0705 and 0815.

Airtel Nigeria - This is an Indian mobile service provider with coverage in Nigeria and Sub-Sahara with a number series of 0802, 0708 and 0812.

Etisalat Nigeria - This is an Arabic mobile service provider with coverage in Nigeria and the Middle East with number series of 0809, 0819 and 0818.

All the mobile service providers also provide internet services across the nation.

Visafone Nigeria - This is a CDMA provider with coverage in South Western and South South Nigeria, with number series of 0702. They also provide internet services in these parts of the country.

There are also other internet service providers across the country: NGCom, Swift Network, Mobitel, IPNX etc.
